This workshop will be offered as a webinar. With a manuscript in hand, I joined a Seven Bridge critique group in 2017. Paula Castner was the facilitator. Three years and many queries later, I found an agent, and six months later my book sold on proposal to Anchor Books. The Other Family Doctor: A Veterinarian Explores What Animals Can Teach Us About Love, Life, and Mortality releases March 14, 2023. My publication journey involved many ups and downs, a lot of rejections, and a lot of research, and the support of my critique group was invaluable. I’ll describe my path to publication and answer questions about topics including querying, agents, resources, writing conferences, figuring out where your book fits in the marketplace, handling rejection, and knowing when to change your route.
