SBWC POLICIES
SBWC Fees:
No one will be turned away from a SBWC fee-based event due to financial difficulties. Should financial consideration be needed for a fee-based writing program, please email [email protected] to ask about scholarships. Participants who receive scholarships will be asked to volunteer time on behalf of SBWC in an agreed upon capacity.
The classes, intensives and other fee-based programs collect fees through Stripe which provides encrypted online transactions. For the comfort of all participants, checks may also be mailed to P.O. Box 111, Lancaster, MA 01523, but registrants should email [email protected] to indicate a check is forthcoming.
SBWC Refunds:
In the event a SBWC fee-based writing course is cancelled, SBWC will refund fees paid, proportional to the number of sessions already held. Individuals who cancel before a writing course begins may receive a refund. Individuals who drop during the first week will receive a refund, minus a 25% administrative processing fee. After the first week, no refund will be given. In the event a refund is needed, SBWC will refund participants through Stripe or a check, determined by the status of payment.
SBWC Writing Groups:
Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Individuals will be placed in first choice options until groups fill. If registrants have indicated a second choice option, individuals who have registered after their first choice option is full will be placed in their second choice option until all groups are full. Should there be no space in both an individual’s first and second choices, those individuals and individuals who do not indicate a second option will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted if anyone drops out within two weeks of the writing group sessions starting. After the first two weeks, no one will be placed into open slots, unless at specific discretion of SBWC. Groups will remain as they are for the duration of the session.
SBWC Library Partnerships:
Libraries who partner with SBWC to host writing programs act as a creative co-working space and do not necessarily reflect the views of SBWC. Nor are they responsible for the planning and implementation of SBWC events. Should any concerns, questions, or needs arise regarding a SBWC writing program, emails should be sent directly to SBWC at [email protected]
