Writing the Personal Essay, Part II
with Winona Wendth
A SWBC Intensive
Saturday, March 24, 2018
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Thayer Memorial Library
This workshop is open to those writers who attended Seven Bridge Writers’ Collaborative’s earlier session, Writing the Personal Essay, and who want personalized guidance for their work.
Join writer Winona Winkler Wendth for an intensive two-hour session that will enable writers to sharpen their thoughts, develop their voices, shape their ideas into one of the several traditional essay forms, and maintain thematic consistency.
Each attendee should bring an example of an essay he or she is working on—in almost any stage of completion but no longer than 800 words—for assessment and advice. The class will include discussions related to voice and tone, language, patterns and structure, audience awareness, and suggestions for publication.
This workshop is limited to ten writers, who must commit to reading materials sent to the class in advance and to bring work to the class for discussion. Class Fee: $40.00.
